Welcome to my blog. Welcome to my family.

Well it's been awhile ...

Whew ... It's been a crazy few weeks. On July 15 (Dave's Birthday, poor guy), I found myself back in the hospital. (I had already been back July 2-4 for an infection.) I was spiking temperatures of 103 and having pains in my lower abdomen around my c-section incision. Well this time I was treated with 5 rounds of IV antibiotics. While this wasn't working, I had 2 CT scans to see what was going on. The doctors saw lots of abscesses (infection), so it took quite a few days for them to get together and decide that I needed surgery. The antibiotics were not working at all! On Wed, July 20 I went in for surgery to remove all of the infection. The goal was to save my uterus. We weren't sure if this was going to be possible. The doctors went in and were able to get all the infection and preserve my uterus. Praise God!!! However, they did make the decision to leave my incision open. They wanted me to heal from the inside out, so they left me with an open wound that has to be repacked twice daily. I took a bad turn after my surgery, and they were worried that I was having a complication from the surgery. I got taken back for an x-ray. Everything looked great. They ended up getting my meds in order, and I started feeling much better. A few days later on Tues, July 26 (Everett's one month birthday), I got to come home.

Now I have to have a nurse come over twice a day to change my dressing. It is somewhat painful, but gets better every day. I have an at home nurse, but she doesn't come that often. My good friend Olivia has come over and filled in. She is wonderful, and I thank God so much for her and her friendship. This week my friend Brooke is also going to start helping. Praise God for her too!

I hope to be able to keep up with my blog now. :) I'll post some pictures that we've taken of Everett from the past few weeks.

First time in his glider. He didn't like it at first, but then he fell asleep.

Before his first bath. He doesn't know what is about to hit him. We have to turn his glowie on to keep him calm when we take his diaper off.

Everett's first bath from Mom & Dad

I got accused of making the water too cold. Ha. He was not happy. I was a nervous wreck. I kept telling Dave, "don't let go of him, he's going to drown." I might have almost cried. :)

Look how cute I am.

Multi-tasking Mom.

Riding in car to coffee shop.

A few days before Momma went back to the hospital. Faking like I feel okay.

Guard Dog Ray Ray on duty

After we got home from the hospital for the last time, Oma & Grandma give Everett a bath. He got so big while we were gone. :( He went to his 1 month Dr. appt and weighed 10 lbs 5 oz. and was in the 64th percentile and was 22 inches long in the 60th percentile. The Dr. was impressed and said he is looking good!

Two Reds fans. He's wearing his 0-3 month clothes now. He was wearing preemies still when we left for the hospital. Quit growing.

First Photo Shoot

I was so excited to have Everett's newborn pictures taken. Cayce Wagner did a great job capturing some really precious moments of him. These were taken last Friday. He was five days old. I had a little melt down (literally & figuratively), when we went outside. It was soooo HOT out there, and we have tons of mosquitos. I learned quickly what it feels like to be protective of your child. It's amazing how something so little and so new can change someone who is so selfish to someone who is so selfless. He has taught me a lot already! I am in love with so many of these pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Dad, Baby, & Mom

Aaaaw My little Foxy Baby. I love this hat that Dan's co-worker made for me. It's perfect!

Dennis & Evelyn got us this CUTE glove chair for our nursery. It looks so cute in there and even cuter with Baby Everett laying on it.

I was so afraid to have him on the grass. Eeek! My blood pressure is rising just looking at these pictures, but he does look SOOOOOO cute all scrunched up in there.

I love this blanket that Lindsay got for Everett. It's so cozy.

Everett is here!!!

On June 26 Everett Earl Fox entered into the world. He weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 19 1/2 in long. He came out with a head full of his mom's hair, must have been all of the hair I've been losing. :) We still can't figure out exactly who he looks like. Although my baby pictures look exactly like him, crazy thick hair and all. He definitely has Dave's coloring. I'm excited for all of my friends and family to meet him.
